The Doyle Las Vegas

Artisan Atelier Editorial Shoot

On a crisp Tuesday morning in Las Vegas on February 26th, twenty creatives congregated into a local venue in search of some artist enlightenment and pretty things to feed our cameras soul. I’m not going to lie, even to this day I always feel a little awkward going into a workshop or when I go shoot a wedding without familiar faces. I’ll try my hardest to put myself out there and spark up some conversation but it’s not without slight hesitation.

I have a tendency to say awkward stuff when I’m nervous and don’t even let me try to tell a joke because I will kill the whole effin thing. So for a short time, I’m more of a listener and once I have an idea of who you are or get a read for the room I feel more comfortable to talk in general. Unless you have been a friend for a while, then my nutty outgoing persona comes out.

It’s always interesting to hear about another artist’s journey and Paul’s (our mentor for this workshop) words rang in my head that had close similarities with how I started. I loved his bullet points about the offerings one should give to a client from beginning to end, building powerful relationships with the vendors and visualize your path to execute your wedding day. Most importantly he touched on that if something goes wrong its probably you’re (the photographers) fault but own that shi*t (my words not his) and find a way to fix it and fast.

There was a huge team of vendors that came together to put this day together and below are just a few of all the images I captured. A huge thank you to Paul & the lovely Taylor, Carrie plus her team of assistants and all the hard-working artists that created the beautiful items we shot that day.
