Hey hey, you made it here. Thanks for your interest in perusing my blog about weddings in Tri-state areas. If you are a couple that has recently gotten engaged and is unsure where to start looking for a wedding venue. Or for folks who are just window shopping for wedding inspiration. This post is definitely for you. I’ll try to keep most of the information brief and give a link directly to the venues so if you need more information you can get it directly from them.
One thing I want to make clear is that this roundup of venues is my opinion and I’m not being paid to advertise to any of them. They are venues I’ve worked at as a wedding photographer for real weddings. If you found this information helpful don’t forget to follow me on social media for more helpful wedding information @simonejaramillophoto. The bottom of this post has a form to get in touch with me if you have any other questions.
I will update this post continually as I work around this area.

Tucked in a picturesque little Maryland eastern shore town of Saint Michaels is this gem. The Inn at Perry’s Cabin is both historical and beautiful. There’s a spa and an award-winning restaurant on the property. They even have a few boats you can charter for a unique Miles Lake sailing experience. Even if you are not looking for a wedding venue this place would be a great choice for a honeymoon or babymoon location. Go enjoy this cute little town for the cool history and tasty fresh seafood.

Continuing with the eastern shore along the Elk River is a 160-acre property in North East Maryland. Down a long road with other farm-like properties. The Bohemia Overlook has three locations to host a wedding as well as its own winery. The manor is the perfect place to get ready and has the shortest walk to the ceremony location by the river and next to the tented reception area. Here is my shoe recommendation for anyone reading this, the ceremony space is grass, so anything with a pointy heel wouldn’t be my first choice.

If I was newly engaged and was looking for an all-in-one venue location, Shadowbrook would be in my top 3 for New Jersey. I love the huge gates when you enter, so much parking, the bridal suites are spacious, so many locations for photo opportunities, their outdoor ceremony area is dreamy, endless amounts of food options, the ballroom space is top-notch, and the best part is their staff are all wonderful and courteous. I’ve had the pleasure of working at this location a couple of times and was wowed each time. The cocktail hour is one of the best I’ve seen in New Jersey. There is an absurd amount of food options. You can host a large 200-person gathering and still have room to dance and party.

Ohhhhh, Ryland Inn you are like a second home away from home. I’m not sure how it’s happened but I have worked at this venue more than any other in the last 3 years. Every wedding is seriously always a party. So many great memories. My favorite seasons here are spring and fall. My favorite spaces are the Kimblewick house (bridal space), Hayloft cottage (groom space), outdoor patio space for the ceremony, and the grand ballroom for the reception. If you love the modern elegance of a historical farm property go book a wedding tour asap. They fill up their calendar quickly.

When I was still new to the East Coast, I was happy to see how many places had nods to European architecture in these small towns while driving to new venues. It’s such a fantastic treat and I really enjoy these tiny surprises. It’s about a two-hour drive to Bucks County Pennsylvania. This quaint hotel chateau slash wedding venue is tucked in the cute little town of New Hope. My favorite season for a wedding there would be early summer with an outdoor ceremony and the historic ballroom (photos below are the colt room) for the reception.

Past tall gilded gates and a mid-length curvy tree-lined road you find Ashford Estate has it all. A barn, some Roman columns, a floating gazebo, a handful of choices for ceremony spaces, and a grand ballroom with gorgeous tall ceilings. There are so many stunning photo opportunities. I’ve been here a few times, twice when it was sunny and once when it was overcast and each wedding was stunning. Not to mention the band that played at the reception for each event had everyone young and old party-rocking until it ended.

The Renault Winery is such a gorgeous wedding venue, perfectly located in South Jersey (which is 15 minutes from me) and a short drive to Atlantic City. This property has a lot to offer, a golf course, wine tasting, a small hotel across the street, getting ready space for the bridal party, restaurants, special events during the holiday season, and wedding events.
Multiple location choices for a ceremony and have your reception a ballroom or outdoor tent space for that al fresco vibe. You seriously need to plan a visit for a tour.
Who wouldn’t love to be married alongside priceless works of art? If you are one of the lucky few who can afford such luxury, consider hosting your wedding at the Baltimore Museum of Art in Baltimore Maryland. Imagine exchanging vows amidst masterpieces from ancient Egypt, contemporary pieces from Spencer Finch (Moon Dust), and walking along the sculpture garden. This exclusive experience promises a blend of romance and cultural grandeur, making your special day truly unforgettable. Capture the essence of love and history in a celebration that transcends time.

This North Jersey gem is a fabulous choice for Spring, Summer, and Fall weddings. They have the perfect scenic lake view with a ton of mature trees giving this ceremony location epic photo choices your entire day. The venue hosts one event per day and the venue’s food is always delicious. They venue staff is very attentive to clients and vendors alike. Whether you decide to go with a DJ or a 10-piece wedding band the dance floor is a great size. If there is rain in the forecast there is a rain plan to have the ceremony in the ballroom area and then flip it during cocktail hour for the reception. This place is a great choice for small to mid-size weddings.

Nestled in the small Delaware town of Claymont, is the home of one of many catholic schools but this one is known for having some notable students (President Biden and his children). They have beautiful expansive grounds for small-medium size weddings and from what I remember being mentioned by the venue, it only allows previous alumni to host gatherings. So if you are one of those lucky alum students from this lovely area it would be a great fit for a wedding that wants that European country estate feel.
