A Brooklyn Love Story Blooms at a Country Estate

I recently had the immense pleasure of photographing a truly special wedding that beautifully blended Brooklyn cool with timeless country elegance. From the moment I met this incredible couple, I knew their day would be filled with genuine emotion and stunning details.

Their journey to “I do” is a testament to enduring love. They celebrated their 14th anniversary this year, a remarkable milestone that began during their college days. Their connection deepened through medical school, a demanding journey they navigated together, proving their unwavering support for one another. After building a life and a home in Brooklyn, they decided to make it official, embarking on a three-year engagement that allowed them to meticulously plan every detail of their dream wedding at the Ryland Inn. This extended engagement period clearly paid off, as their vision for the day was executed flawlessly.

The couple had a very clear aesthetic in mind: they envisioned a classic country estate look. This desire for sophisticated charm truly shone through in every aspect of their wedding. The venue they chose was absolutely perfect, offering a breathtaking backdrop of manicured lawns, mature trees, and elegant architecture that transported guests away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The bride radiated timeless elegance in her A-line strapless satin dress by Pronovias, a gown that perfectly complemented the sophisticated ambiance. The floral arrangements, expertly designed by David Shannon Florist, who serves the Tri-state area, were a symphony of soft hues and lush greenery, complementing the natural beauty of the surroundings without overpowering it. Their simple, elegant invitations hinted at the refined celebration to come.

With 135 guests in attendance, the atmosphere was one of lively celebration. It was evident that each person there held a special place in the couple’s lives, creating an intimate and warm environment despite the relatively large guest count. The ceremony itself was incredibly touching, filled with heartfelt vows and moments of pure emotion that I was honored to capture. Laughter echoed through the Coach house at the Ryland Inn during cocktail hour, followed by an energetic reception. With the couple’s Caribbean roots, the night was full of energetic dancing, good food, and a glowing send-off for the newlyweds at the end of the night.

One of the most striking things about this wedding was the seamless blend of their personal story with their chosen aesthetic. Their Brooklyn roots brought a certain relaxed, authentic vibe to the elegant setting. You could see it in the genuine smiles, the comfortable camaraderie among their friends, and the heartfelt toasts that spoke to years of shared memories. It was a beautiful reminder that while the decor sets the scene, it’s the love story and the people who truly make a wedding unforgettable.
