A Surprise Celebration at Kings Beach

Family photo sessions are a blast, especially with a surprise! This particular session, captured in the beautiful Kings Beach scenery, was extra special. Three generations came together to celebrate a 55th birthday. The family was a little nervous at first, they aren’t used to professional photoshoots. But they quickly relaxed and their fun personalities shined.

Capturing Genuine Moments in Lake Tahoe

We filled the session with genuine moments and lots of laughter. We started with classic full-group shots, but soon moved on to more playful poses. Piggyback rides were a big hit, and the grandparents had a great time with their two young grandchildren. The little ones were definitely the stars of our Lake Tahoe family photography session!

Their personalities truly shined. The three-year-old was a natural in front of the camera, loving every moment of exploring the sandy shores for bugs and rocks. Meanwhile, the one-year-old’s infectious smile, putting sand all over himself, and running towards the water made for some of the most adorable, spontaneous images.

We aimed to capture these candid moments. The natural light right before sunset, heading into dusk time at Kings Beach provided the perfect backdrop for their fun-loving energy. The family’s openness to getting sandy and a little dirty made for truly authentic photos. As a photographer, seeing a family simply enjoy each other’s company is the best reward. These images will be a lasting memory of a beautiful day, celebrating both family and a special birthday surprise.
